The Research and Community Service Unit (UPPM) at Institut Kesehatan Suaka Insan is a vital driving force dedicated to advancing academic research and fostering community empowerment. Driven by a commitment to world-class education and institutional excellence, UPPM spearheads initiatives that translate rigorous scientific evidence into impactful community service. The unit is deeply committed to elevating the institution’s competitiveness at the regional, national, and international levels while increasing the active participation of faculty members in meaningful community engagement.

Our Mission

To realize our vision, UPPM Institut Kesehatan Suaka Insan is guided by the following missions:

  • To develop evidence-based research and community service grounded in Paulinian values.

  • To align research and community service initiatives with the enhancement of educational quality, the demands of the healthcare sector, and broader societal needs.

  • To execute high-quality, relevant, and impactful research and community services that drive societal progress.

  • To continuously develop science and technology aimed at sustainably improving the public’s quality of life.

  • To foster and increase the acquisition of Intellectual Property Rights (HaKI).

  • To strengthen and integrate local culture within the development of research and community service frameworks.

Grand Research & Strategic Roadmap

All research and community engagement efforts at UPPM are anchored by a grand strategic roadmap: “Strategies and Technologies in Enhancing Professional Health Services towards an Independent Society.” From this overarching theme, the unit focuses on four strategic issues:

  1. Maternal and Child Health. Advancing well-being and health outcomes for mothers and children.

  2. Public Health Quality. Elevating the standard of health within the general population.

  3. Disease Management & Traditional Medicine. Exploring diseases, health technologies, and traditional medicinal practices for individuals, families, and communities.

  4. Medical-Surgical Nursing. Providing preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services in medical-surgical nursing cases.

Outline of the Strategic Plan (Garis Besar Rencana Strategis)

To achieve our vision and mission, the Research and Community Service Unit (LPPM/UPPM) is guided by a comprehensive strategic plan designed to maximize institutional impact. The key outlines of our strategic plan include:

  • Evidence-Based Community Engagement. Utilizing research findings as the fundamental basis for conducting and developing community service programs.

  • Enhancing Competitiveness. Elevating the competitiveness of the institution in the fields of research and community service at the regional, national, and international levels.

  • Boosting Faculty Participation. Increasing the active participation rate of lecturers in implementing high-quality, impactful community service initiatives.

  • Capacity Building. Continuously improving the management and operational capacity of community service programs within the institution.

  • Achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Maximizing the achievement of institutional Key Performance Indicators in both research and community service sectors.

Strategic Implementation

To successfully reach these goals and objectives, the institution has systematically formulated research and community service programs, complete with a comprehensive roadmap and specific focus topics. The selection of these research and community service activities is rigorously based on a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis, carefully taking into account our internal capabilities and prevailing external conditions.
